The animation you have created is really fun and it works really well with your original composition. My only suggestion is to possibly make the red flowers transparent as well. Other than that, good job!
I think that this animation is successful in the way that the shapes move and interact with one another. I think that is was a good decision not to move the purple shapes. The purple shapes help continually show transparency, I do think it would be interesting to play with the idea of making the red shapes transparent.
